Here's a recommendation for a great classic romance. This is my favorite movie for many reasons, the most significant being that the actors have great chemistry.
The basic story line is that a spoiled rich girl (Claudette Colbert) runs away from her father to meet her husband who her father dragged her away from as they were just married. She meets a reporter (Clark Gable) on her way from Florida to New York and he agrees to help her get there if he can cover her exclusive story. Of course they fall in love, but it all has a happy ending and is totally wholesome and appropriate.
My husband and I watched this movie for our anniversary and it was a great way to have a romantic night without spending a lot of money.
Enjoy this film with your sweet someone while enjoying some homemade pizza and fresh salad. Add some lemon or raspberry sorbet for the perfect finish!
